Red Coal
Peter James
Chapter 5 in The Future of Coal, 1984, pp 125-157 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Most of the world’s coal resources, and its present production, are concentrated in countries with Communist governments and Centrally Planned Economies (CPE). Although these are divided into mutually hostile blocs, the nature of their coal industries, and their relative isolation from those of the free market economies — with the partial exception of Poland and, to a lesser extent, China — justify their common treatment.
