Abstract: Abstract All those who are associated with this volume are friends and many have been pupils and/or colleagues of Lorie Tarshis, in whose honour the volume was conceived. The subjects of the essays relate to issues with which Lorie himself has been concerned during his working life — which still continues vigorously. He is currently Chair of the Economics Department of Glendon College of York University in Toronto.
