Chapter 5 in Machinery and Economic Development, 1986, pp 153-214 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The economic rise of Japan and the Asian newly industrialized countries — Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan — has had a major impact on both analysis and policy. But while it is fairly easy to describe the economic success of these countries, problems of a different order arise in attempting to explain this economic performance.
