Abstract:
Abstract Our review of the relevant studies in Chapters 2 to 4 of this book has established that: in the majority of OECD countries, employment is becoming increasingly concentrated in smaller units; many countries are experiencing rapid increases in self-employment, in both absolute and relative terms; throughout the developed world, large firms are experiencing major job losses, whereas small firms have been the main source of new jobs.
