Chapter 4 in Strikes, 1989, pp 77-109 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Discussion so far has focused primarily on relations between employers and workers, while little reference has been made to those between employers and trade unions. This has been deliberate; for while strikes and unions may, in the popular imagination, be inseparable, in practice it has been seen that the typical stoppage in contemporary Britain is largely dissociated from the formal trade union organization.
