Abstract: Abstract Just arriving or recently arrived, 4 broadcasters (2 more than at R. Leeds, at this hour). They will put out the breakfast programme, starting at 6 am. It is mostly information — news, weather, travel, topical interviews — but leavened with a little bright and brisk music. The four are producer Bridget Sneyd, presenter John Taynton, news bulletin editor and reader Mark Whittacker, and reporter David Biddle. They are followed later by 3 more — another reporter, a production assistant, and a trainee. This is the most important programme of the day, with the peak audience around 8 am; but big efforts are being made to stiffen the lunchtime programme between 12 and 2 pm, including controversial interviews and phone-in discussion.
