Olympics, Business and Ethnic News: The Post, Birmingham

Alastair Hetherington

Chapter 15 in News in the Regions, 1989, pp 142-150 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract To try to produce a serious morning newspaper with only one daytime reporter and two specialists is an almost impossible task. It is made no better by having so few sub-editors that nobody can be spared to revise a badly written Press Association report which is intended to lead an inside news page. That was the position at the Post in Birmingham on Tuesday 23 February 1988.
