Rate of Profit and its Determining Factors from a ‘Regulationist’ Point of View

Chapter 8 in New Findings in Long-Wave Research, 1992, pp 203-229 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The question of profit has a central position in ideological, political and scientific discussions. Some consider that profit is responsible for all the sins under the sun and is the result of the exploitation of labour and the cause of the misery of the people; it is a synonym for parasitism. Others, however, think that it confirms quality, dynamism and success and is therefore the key to development.
