Chapter 2 in Foreign Investment and Privatization in Eastern Europe, 1993, pp 34-81 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Any assessment of the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI), or the activities of transnational corporations (TNCs), on the economic welfare of host countries requires some understanding of the reasons why TNCs undertake FDI in the first place, and also the policies pursued by the host countries which, directly or indirectly, may affect the level and composition of that investment.
