Chapter 1 in The Construction Company in and out of Recession, 1995, pp 3-24 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The behaviour of companies is strongly influenced by the environment in which they operate — first the overall economic and political conditions and secondly the state of the construction industry and the nature of the demands being made upon it. Some of these factors are examined in this chapter.
