Abstract: Abstract 1. The Vietnamese people’s resistance against the French expeditionary force and other foreign occupiers or invaders in Vietnam immediately after the cessation of hostilities of World War II ended victoriously in 1954. However Vietnam’s independence as a whole country was short-lived and it was divided by the Geneva Convention also in 1954 into two regions with two different political systems.
