Abstract: Abstract This chapter examines strategic developments within financial services companies and the resulting changes in the relationship between these firms and their customers. The types of companies focused upon in the chapter are general insurance companies, life insurance companies, retail banks and associated institutions (for example, credit card companies). This is the market for personal or retail financial services.
