Chapter 2 in An Introduction to International Money and Finance, 1998, pp 21-53 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract As indicted in the previous chapter, one of the salient features of the post-war period has been the rapid expansion of international trade. Between 1985 and 1995, for example, the value of world merchandise exports grew from US$1860 billion to around US$5000 billion or by more than 150 per cent.
