Ali Abdel Gadir Ali
Chapter Chapter 4 in Environment and Sustainable Development in Eastern and Southern Africa, 1998, pp 45-61 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract At the outset it is probably important to recall that the main theme of this Fourth Congress of OSSREA was “The Global Nature of the Environmental Crisis and its Relationship with Development: Africa’s Plight”. This paper explores the impact of Structural Adjustment Programmes (SAPs) on the environment. Before becoming involved in the substantive issues of this sub-theme a number of observations are warranted.
