Chapter Chapter 12 in Restructuring the Malaysian Economy, 1999, pp 311-314 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The story of Malaysia’s economic development since the commencement of the New Economic Policy has been one of remarkable achievement, as noted at the outset of this volume. It is a story of rapid growth combined with equity. In summing up, this chapter serves only to reiterate some of the more important themes underlying this transformation, turning first to growth and the development strategy, then to human resources, equity and restructuring. We close with a few final thoughts on the inter-play between these two components.
