Introduction to Mobile Telephony
Peter Curwen
Chapter 1 in The Future of Mobile Communications, 2002, pp 1-28 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract What follows is concerned with the evolution of, and prospects for, so-called third-generation or 3G services provided using mobile devices. It is particularly concerned with developments in Western Europe because that is where most progress has so far been made in terms of the number of countries involved, but full account is also taken of developments elsewhere in the world.
