Abstract: Abstract The previous two chapters have examined the relationship between the Asian financial crisis and regional industrial transformations on the one hand, and Japan’s external economic policy on the other. This chapter seeks to deepen our understanding of Japan-East Asian relationship by highlighting Japan’s regional cooperation policy in the rapidly evolving regional environments.
