Special United Nations Fund for Economic Development (SUNFED)

D. John Shaw

Chapter 8 in Sir Hans Singer, 2002, pp 72-90 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract After 1949, Singer became much involved for almost a decade in a major initiative to increase the flow of resources to developing countries through the United Nations. This was a natural outcome of one of the policy conclusions of his work on the long-term prospects for the terms of trade of developing countries — to compensate for declining terms of trade (and lagging import capacity) by financial transfers (Singer, 1984c, pp. 296–303).
