Chapter Chapter 5 in Journey to Lean, 2004, pp 65-77 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Even the best operating system supported by the most complementary management infrastructure won’t produce the desired results unless people behave in a way that supports the operating system. The right formal systems, structures and processes are necessary to make change stick, but they aren’t sufficient. In any lean transformation, individuals’ actions need to change; for that to happen, people at every level of the organisation must be engaged and committed.
