Toward an Integrative Theory of Business Ethics: With Special Reference to the East Asian Region
Yukimasa Nagayasu
Chapter Chapter 8 in Developing Business Ethics in China, 2006, pp 90-98 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract A prejudice exists, “the myth of amoral business,” which claims that ethics is useless in the business world. Professor De George notes this fact in Business Ethics (1990). The roots of this myth lie in a prevailing wrong view of the content of ethics. When people think about ethics, they only take notice of improving the dimension of human values and relations. In other words, people do not pay enough attention to the necessary and hidden dimension of ethics that makes the living power of a system stronger.
