Abstract:
Abstract This chapter discusses theories and how they guide the current methodology. It first returns to classic Marxist theory to observe waged workers and the social structure in China’s recent history. Weber’s sociological is then utilised to understand reforms and restructure of SOEs. In addition, theorists such as Bourdieu, Foucault, Olson and Sen are referred to, regarding capital, power, interest group and entitlement. All these are vital to guide the fieldwork with original data collected for this project.
