Abstract:
Abstract This chapter examines the place of hotel activity in the urban organization of tourist resorts. These are understood as functional systems within a tourist area, combining accommodation, diversified services, entertainment and cultural, landscape or leisure attractions, all of which form a product on the destination market (Vlès, Métastations. Mutations urbaines des stations de montagne, un regard pyrénéen, Presses universitaires de Bordeaux, Pessac, 2014). These resorts are the result of interactions between a variety of players, from tourists to administrations, not to mention the environment (an object of appropriation and a source of attraction and hazards).
