Chinese Banks and the Wider World
Violaine Cousin
Chapter 15 in Banking in China, 2011, pp 212-223 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract 入世 is the Chinese abbreviation for China’s accession to the World Trade Organization or WTO (the expression in full being 加入世界贸易组织). Taken to the individual meaning of each character, this abbreviation could also mean ‘enter the world’. What will be the impact of Chinese banks entering the world? Or is the world finding access to Chinese markets through its accession to the WTO?
