Exiting
Andrea Schertler
Chapter 5 in The Venture Capital Industry in Europe, 2006, pp 76-91 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter deals with the exiting behaviour of private equity companies. Private equity companies, especially those that are independent of their capital providers, aim at exiting from their participations in portfolio firms after some time. Exiting, which is the last stage in the venture capital cycle, plays an important role in this cycle, because a significant part of private equity companies’ portfolio returns is realized when exiting from their participations.
