Chapter Chapter 8 in Food Security in the Caribbean, 2024, pp 223-240 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Food security has been a concern of nations dating back to the earliest civilization. The Caribbean by virtue of its colonial antecedence, specializing in the production of a narrow band of export crops and importing most of its food for domestic consumption from the colonial masters, has been historically conditioned and structured to be reliant on others for its food.
