Chapter 3 in The Changing Role of SMEs in Global Business, 2020, pp 39-60 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Highly acknowledged in the scientific literature as an important jobs generator and economic growth and wealth creator, the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) sector represents the main pillar of any economy. This paper aims to raise awareness about the opportunities and challenges faced by the immigrant entrepreneurs and the SMEs they own, which are active in a foreign country. Based on a complex field research and following an evolutionary approach, from past to present, and, very daringly, to the future, the paper focuses on SMEs initiated and developed by Middle Eastern immigrant entrepreneurs in Eastern Europe.
