Chapter Chapter 9 in Non-Profit Organisations, Volume III, 2024, pp 209-231 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter aims to investigate job satisfaction experienced by principals and heads in “non-profit oranisations”, examining the factors which their job satisfaction is based on. The method of the study is quantitative, and the research tool is the questionnaire. The sample consists of 51 principals of school units in the Region of Preveza. The results demonstrate that the contact of the principals with the students is a refreshing process, in contrast to the contact with the teachers at the school. An inversely proportional relationship was observed between job satisfaction and the individual dimensions of job satisfaction. The research is innovative for the Greek elementary schools regarding work satisfaction. It will contribute to more efficient operation of school units which should be pursued by the State.
