Abstract:
Abstract This chapter introduces ESG, defines it, outlines its evolution, and clarifies misunderstandings with regard to the topic. It reviews the literature, caused for its rapid rise and carries out an extensive survey of related concepts and activities in different parts of the world. The complex web around the topic is unravelled and the reader is taken on the journey of sustainability which leads to Africa through the rest of the book.
