Chapter Chapter 7 in The Sustainable Finance Operating System, 2025, pp 151-157 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract This concluding chapter reflects the Sustainable Finance Operating System framework. It summarizes its achievements in mobilizing capital and raising awareness while acknowledging inherent tensions such as the conflict between financial value and societal values. It examines the persistent implementation challenges related to data quality and fragmentation among others as well as the difficulties posed by divergent international regulatory approaches. Looking forward, the chapter identifies the primary catalysts driving the system’s evolution. These catalysts are technological innovation including artificial intelligence and satellite data, strengthening regulatory mandates for disclosure and oversight and increasing market and societal demands for accountability and transparency. It concludes by outlining strategic priorities for future action and research.
