Chapter 7 in The Political Economy of Competitiveness in an Enlarged Europe, 2001, pp 152-164 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract An analysis of the development of OPT in CEECs is particularly heuristic in the sense that it provides extremely rich material from which insight into different aspects of the dynamics of regional integration in Europe can be inferred. Different findings were presented in the previous chapters which concern CEECs’ chance of catching up in the context of the regional integration process, as well as implications for policies conducted in the EU and in CEECs. In this chapter, it is proposed to pull this evidence together and drawsome wider conclusions concerning the exercise of the governance of the economy in an enlarged Europe.
