Chapter 5 in Corporate Restructuring and Governance in Transition Economies, 2007, pp 107-131 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The transformation process in the Czech Republic began under the leadership of then Prime Minister Vaclav Klaus (now president), who placed emphasis on implementing market mechanisms and so-called radical economic reforms from 1990 to 1997. In 1998, the Social Democratic Party took the post of political power from the Klaus administration, and since then the political and economic conditions of the Czech Republic have changed significantly.
