Abstract:
The article discusses issues related to the issue of EU patent system and its importance to the realization of a central pillar of the innovative EU as a foun-dation of Contemporary Knowledge-Based Economy. It also points to the need to unify and strengthen the protection of industrial property rights. In addition, the article is characterizes steps towards the harmonization of rules and the barriers towards the establishment of an EU patent. The conclusions of the article mainly indicate the need to intensify work on this issue because without effective protec-tion of inventions and technical ideas of completed statutory grounds, it will be impossible to fully realize the idea of so-called Innovation Union.
