Philippine Journal of Development, 2022

Abstract: This issue of the Philippine Journal of Development contains articles on agriculture, exports, health, and the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). The first paper discusses how the parcelization of collective Certificates of Land Ownership Awards can improve the agricultural performance of farmers and encourages the adoption of other rural development strategies. The second article assesses the diversity and inclusivity of Philippine export activities to the European Union (EU) under the Generalised Scheme of Preferences Plus, a trade agreement that removes EU tariffs in exchange for the compliance of developing countries with international conventions. The third paper documents the experiences of rural physicians in managing pediatric tuberculosis cases before and after disasters in Bohol, with participants from public and private health facilities in areas affected by an earthquake and the super typhoon that hit Bohol in 2013. The last paper examines the results of the third wave impact evaluation of 4Ps, particularly the possible reasons behind the unexpected outcomes on child health and nutrition, maternal health, and employment of beneficiaries.
