Labor Force Participation in an LDC

Abstract:
An aggregate labor force participation rate model based on a neoclassical two-period labor-supply model is derived and estimated using annual time-series data for the Philippines. The findings cast doubts on LDC labor market models that posit an infinitely elastic labor supply curve.
