Abstract:
Centre of the Cell is a unique biomedical science education centre, a widening participation and outreach project in London’s East End. This article describes Centre of the Cell’s first five years of operation, the evolution of the project in response to audience demand, and the impact of siting a major public engagement project within a research laboratory.This Community Page describes "Centre of the Cell"—an innovative and successful public engagement project situated inside a research laboratory in London's East End—and its impact on research staff and local audiences.
