Abstract: This paper presents an analysis of the principle of human dignity. "Dignity" is entitled the first chapter of the Charter of Fundamental Rights, the Charter in early stage have a declarative existence (European Union member states and EU institutions were not bound by its provisions, although it was made as such as was required). The inclusion of the Charter in the Lisbon Treaty and its entry into force on 1 December 2009, cause the full legal effect.Human dignity is provided in two important pillars of Europe: The European Convention on Human Rights and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. This topic of interest to states aspiring to join the European Union, the Charter is incorporated in the Treaty of Lisbon, when the non-Member State will have state of the EU Lisbon Treaty will be applied in them. Charter of Fundamental Rights provides new rights? European Convention on Human Rights has a lower effect compared with the European Union's Charter of Fundamental Rights? The article presents a comparison of the dignity principle in the Charter of Fundamental Rights and European Convention on Human Rights.
