Abstract: The present document resumes the work of tree papers regarding college selection system. These investigations evaluate the use of the “high school ranking” of students as a college selection variable. The authors evaluate the performance of students in the University of Chile, Catholic University of Chile and University of Santiago. They found positive evidence regarding the use of the ranking as a selection variable, and conclude that universities could capture better students.
