Minority ethnic women in the Australian labour market

Jawad Syed and Faiza Ali

MPRA Paper from University Library of Munich, Germany

Abstract: Despite its predominant focus on gender equity, the present managing diversity discourse in Australia generally overlooks multi-racial feminist perspectives. Consequently equal opportunity legislation and practices, designed for “mainstream” Australian women, do not take into account the diversity of ethnic and socio-cultural contexts and experiences of the “other” women.
