Abstract:
For decades, the oil and gas industry has delivered the world with the best value proposition in the forms of reliable, affordable, safe energy supplies. As global population projections soar, demand for all forms of energy is also set to rise, with hydrocarbons expected to play a dominant role in the energy mix for the foreseeable future. However, current global greenhouse gas (GHG) targets and today’s definition of clean energy highlight the opportunity for emissions management and create an economic incentive for producers and consumers to decarbonize, with both groups playing a critical role in the energy transition.
