Hana Svobodová and Pavel Fišer

Regionální studia, 2012, vol. 2012, issue 1, 14-23

Abstract: Since 2008, the labour market of the European Union has been significantly impacted by the economic recession which is evident also in all regions of the Czech Republic, including the South-Moravian Region. Impacts of the economic recession on the labour market are reflected mainly in reduction of vacant positions, increase of applicants for work and thus in increasing unemployment rate as well as long-term unemployment, etc. Enterprises across the region react on this situation differently but all of them need to adapt flexibly, when it comes to the number of their employees and production. Movements in the labour market have been significant. The aim of the article is to analyze these movements and to compare the real situation to plans of enterprises.
