Abstract: [fre] L’industrie des hedge funds a connu, au cours des dernières années, un essor considérable. Le succès de ces fonds est lié à une absence de contraintes réglementaires qui permet aux investisseurs d’avoir accès aux derniers développements de la technologie financière ainsi qu’à des stratégies très diverses. Définir le cadre optimal de régulation de ces activités constitue donc un défi particulièrement complexe et un enjeu international majeur, dans un contexte où leur distribution s’élargit progressivement pour toucher des investisseurs non qualifiés. . Classification JEL : G23, G24, G28 [eng] The challenges of regulating hedge funds . The hedge fund industry has experienced phenomenal growth these past years. The success of hedge funds is linked to a lack of regulatory restrictions, which allows investors to obtain access to the latest developments in financial technology and a very diverse range of investment strategies. Defining the optimal framework for regulating these activities therefore constitutes a particularly complex challenge on an international scale and in an environment where distribution is gradually expanding to include non-professional investors. .
