Abstract: [eng] Petroleum Sovereign Wealth Fonds . The increase in oil prices between 2002 and 2008 has increased the size and the influence of sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) that were established by the main oil and gas exporting countries. The low level of oil prices at the end of 2008 doesn't eliminate the fundamental increasing trend in energy prices. SWFs have become important players on the financial and industrial global scene. The financial crisis drove some financial companies to turn for rescue to SWFs which have now a role to play for a redefinition of world capitalism's governance. . JEL Classification : F21, F30, Q33 [fre] L'augmentation des prix du pétrole entre 2002 et 2008 a eu pour effet d'accroître la taille et l'influence des fonds souverains des principaux pays exportateurs d'hydrocarbures. Les bas prix du pétrole à la fin 2008 ne remettent pas en cause une tendance fondamentalement haussière des prix de l'énergie. Les fonds souverains pétroliers sont devenus des acteurs importants sur la scène financière et industrielle internationale. La crise financière a amené un certain nombre d'établissements financiers à venir chercher le secours des fonds souverains qui ont maintenant un rôle à jouer dans la recomposition des structures de gouvernance du capitalisme. .
