Interim-Management Deployments in an Innovation Context
Juergen Bruns
in Books from Rainer Hampp Verlag
Abstract:
Interim-Management is a novel and highly relevant topic within human resource management. Academic analysis so far has been focused on working time and contract flexibility for non-managerial employees. Not surprisingly, academic knowledge, in particular theories and empirical findings on Interim-Management is still limited in particular when analyzing this topic with innovation and in an international comparative context. Building on explorative research of interim-management deployments in an innovation context, the author derives theoretical informed and practical a process model which considers both hard & soft facts for overcoming innovation barriers successfully. Potential interim-management deployments are discussed in the light of all managerial key functions of the supply chain subject to innovation in a broader sense. In a theoretical discussion that breaks new ground at current, the author analyzes the international transferability of interim-management as a new management concept in general and to another country in particular. In summary this book offers original insights to interim-management as a new management concept by primary empirical research and theory development. It is designed to be useful both to practising managers – using a ready-to-use process model with an international perspective including practical recommendations for innovation-driven interim-management deployments – and interim-managers but also to academic researchers in this area.
