Abstract: Dans cet article, notre recherche a pour objectif de démontrer le rôle des territoires dans les processus d’innovation. Il mobilise les travaux des théoriciens du développement local et de l’économie territoriale, aussi bien ceux qui se consacrent aux processus qui se déroulent dans les pays industrialisées que ceux liés aux particularités du Tiers monde (ex. la théorie des sites symboliques issue de l’économie du développement). Dans l’étude des pays en développement, il est nécessaire de privilégier les dynamiques informelles. Dans cet ensemble de micro activités, nous pouvons ainsi mettre en évidence le caractère encastré de l’économique dans le social. C’est dans ces mêmes termes que nous abordons les processus de l’innovation. In this paper, our research aims at showing the role of territories in innovation processes. It mobilizes the work of local development and territorial economy theoreticians, as well as of those who devote their work on the processes which take place in industrialized countries as those related to the characteristics of the Third world (e.g. the theory of the symbolic sites applied to the economy of development). In the study of developing countries, it is necessary to focus on the importance of informal relations. In this set of micro activities, we can thus highlight the embedded character of the economic system in the social one. It is in the same terms that we approach the processes of innovation.
