Abstract:
This paper points out the distinction between money (a flow) and deposits (stocks of wealth), explaining the formation and then expenditure of monetary profits in the production process. In the present structure of banks' bookkeeping, money and technology are elements of a pathology (capital over-accumulation) whose outcomes are inflation and unemployment.
