Abstract: Korean Abstract: 탄자니아는 우리나라의 제2기 중점협력국으로 신규 선정되었다. 이에 따라 우리 정부는 2016년부터 적용될 대(對)탄자니아 국가협력전략(CPS) 수립을 준비하고 있다. 탄자니아는 우리나라의 중요한 개발협력대상국일 뿐 아니라 동부 아프리카 지역에서 경제적·전략적 중요성이 매우 높은 나라이다. 아프리카 국가 중에서도 정치·사회적으로 비교적 안정되어 있으며, 최근 빠른 경제성장과 자원개발의 가속화로 발전 잠재력과 대외협력 확대 가능성이 높다. 그러나 여전히 아프리카 내에서도 최빈국 중 하나로서, 취약한 산업기반과 인적 역량, 단순한 경제구조와 심각한 빈곤 문제 등 개발을 위해 해결해야 할 과제가 많은 상황이다. 효과적인 개발 원조를 위해서는 이와 같은 개발환경에 대한 심도 있는 연구가 요구된다. 본 연구는 제2기 중점협력국에 대한 CPS 수립을 앞두고 중점협력국으로 새로 편입된 탄자니아를 대상으로 CPS 수립 시 고려해야 할 대상국의 기초환경과 분야별 개발 수요 및 현황을 조사하고 우리나라 협력전략의 대안을 제시하고자 했다. 특히 중점협력이 요구되는 대상 분야에 대한 심도 있는 분석과 분야별 협력전략 및 지원방안을 제시함으로써 향후 정부 차원의 CPS작성에 기여하고자 했다. (후략) English Abstract: Tanzania has been newly selected as a Korea's priority partner country for development cooperation and the Korean government is currently developing a Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) which will be effective starting from 2016. Tanzania is not only one of the Korea's pivotal development cooperation partners but also is a country of high economic and strategic importance in East Africa. The country shows relatively stable political and social conditions in comparison to other African countries; and its fast growing economy and abundant resources raise the potential for development and economic cooperation. Nonetheless, the country still remains as one of the least developed countries in the world. Tanzania faces multiple development challenges such as its weak industrial base, lack of human resources, simple economic structure, and poverty. To achieve effective development aid delivery, therefore, requires a comprehensive study on the complicated development context in Tanzania. This study aims to provide an in-depth analysis on the development context in Tanzania, propose potential priority areas for Korea-Tanzania development cooperation, and ultimately contribute to the process of establishing the CPS for Tanzania with policy suggestions on cooperation strategies based on the analyses.
