Abstract: The foreign bank was a fundamental ground throughout the transformation of the credit-driven money relations in Latin America in the period of 1830-1910. The States required flows of credit to finance the development, fact that contributed the amplification of its links with the foreign policy and favoured establishing a private bank system in the countries with greatest growth. Due to that reason, it is analyzed the creation of productive monetary economies in Argentina and Mexico, representative countries of the free circulation of money and debts attained in the area and it shows the fragility of the monetary and credit systems.
