Abstract:
The paper presents the theoretical researches regarding the modification of the dissolved oxygen concentration in an aeration tank equipped with porous diffusers. The equation which describes the dispersion process of the transferred oxygen in an aqueous medium through the air-water interface and the modeling results of the dissolved oxygen concentration evolution in the water from the tank, are presented. It was found that the saturation point of the oxygen concentration is reached after about 13 minutes of operation, the areas of maximum concentration being identified in the lower part of the tank.
