Abstract:
The inefficiency of the conical chambers of the radial clarifiers is mentioned in different studies for forty five years. This study presents the qualitative and economical implications resulting from several structural elements introduced in order to increase the performance of the radial clarifier with conical reaction chamber, designed in 1970 -nineteen-seventy. The proposed design solutions lead to increased sedimentation efficiency phase, decreased specific consumption of the coagulant and flocculant and also it provided an increasement of the filtration and disinfection efficiency on the treatment plant.
