Abstract: All theoreticians believe that the human being is determined by their private inner experiences, by the unique ways of perception and consideration of the surrounding world, by the communication relationships with other characters, as unique and individualized as they are. The subjective experiences of the individual, unique in many cases, suggest that personality can be understood only by comprehension. Phenomenologists believe in the free human development, in the self-determination capacity of humans. Vocation is a permanent opening of the Self to the world, to sense. If for psychoanalysis, structuralism, and behaviourism the human conduct has a stricter degree of determination, the most valuable representatives of humanistic psychology suggest that the permanent struggle for self-development is essential for the existence. Thus, humanistic psychology represents, through its fundamental concepts, another angle of approach of profession, that is vocation, a fundamental matrix for self-development.
